Senior Mechanical Engineer

For more information, visit: www.gpinet.com Responsibilities: Lead and design HVAC and mechanical systems for a variety of building types, including commercial, institutional, healthcare, and public sector facilitiesPrepare and oversee construction documents, technical specifications, and design calculations Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts in compliance with applicable codes and standards Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines Interface with clients, architects, and regulatory agencies throughout project development Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals; provide construction phase support as needed Mentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and quality oversight Support project pursuits, proposals, and client development activities Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred Minimum 8-12 years of experience in HVAC and mechanical system design Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NYS Building Code, energy codes, and applicable industry standards Proficiency with HVAC design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, load calculation software) Experience with public and private sector projects preferred Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills
