Responsibilities include complex engineering design, analysis, calculations, equipment selection, P&IDs, sizing calculations, and procurement packages. Candidates must lead design projects, mentor junior engineers, and manage multiple engineering tasks concurrently.District OverviewOur Power district spans structural, civil, piping, mechanical, process, electrical, instrument, and control disciplines, delivering EPC solutions for power facilities across North America. Key project areas include gas‑fired generation, power delivery, environmental retrofits, renewables, and water/wastewater.ResponsibilitiesPerform high complexity engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection for EPC projects (from conceptual design through detailed design)Develop mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, flue gas, hydrogen, fuel handling, heat transfer systems, and utility systemsPrepare sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment such as boilers, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers, and pumpsPrepare mechanical engineering designs, drawings, As‑Builts, system specifications, equipment lists, general arrangements, auxiliary power demands, and process flow diagrams (PFDs) and procurement packages for equipment/components, technical bid evaluation, and vendor selectionEvaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, industry codes and standards to projectsCheck design deliverables in accordance with industry codes, contract requirements, and company standardsPrepare requisite mechanical documentation for constructionAssist in the development of schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completionCoordinate with other drafters, designers, and engineers and review work progress and resultsProvide technical mentoring and/or oversight to other junior engineersBalance multiple engineering tasks concurrentlyLead design projects or portions of design projectsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) from an ABET‑accredited four‑year institutionAt least 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering design for power generation, performing the functions outlined aboveCurrent Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensingStrong work ethic, initiative, and passion for excellence and leadershipDemonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityPassion for safety and ensuring a safe work environmentStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player who can work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectivesExcellent organization, time‑management, and attention to detailAble to travel within the U.S. as requiredWorking ConditionsExpected to work during normal operating hours with occasional overtime and weekends.
