Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master's Degree a plus
Proficiency in design using SolidWorks or ProE
Design experience for sheet metal, injection molded plastics, and machined parts
Experience taking at least two complex electromechanical systems from early requirements to final release to customer
Analysis experience should include proficiency in at least three of the following areas: Tolerance analysis, FEA, CFD, Heat Transfer, Fluidics Design, Shock & Vibration
Knowledge of motion control motor and servo selection, mechanical packaging, etc. is helpful
Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical lead for new product development projects and the main technical point of contact for clients
Applies knowledge of sheet metal and plastic manufacturing processes to the overall design of products
Will develop concept based on customer requirements and take through to prototyping
Consider the input of the entire team (software, electrical engineering) for design input, solutions to challenges, and cost-control methods
Communicate clearly with internal team, vendors, and customers
