Overview

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a

Senior Mechanical Engineer

to support a multidisciplinary engineering organization delivering commercial, institutional, government, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the United States. The successful candidate will lead the design and execution of HVAC and plumbing systems, collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, manage multiple concurrent projects, and work directly with clients to deliver innovative engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineering & Design

+ Lead the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of building and facility projects.

+ Perform HVAC load calculations, system analysis, and equipment selection utilizing industry-standard software.

+ Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

+ Interpret technical drawings and coordinate design development activities.

+ Review designs for compliance with applicable mechanical, energy, and plumbing codes and standards.

+ Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts across engineering disciplines.

Project Management & Leadership

+ Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, budget, and schedule objectives.

+ Lead engineering teams through project planning, execution, and delivery.

+ Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and work plans.

+ Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight to engineers and designers.

+ Monitor project performance and resolve technical and execution challenges.

Business Development & Client Engagement

+ Support proposal development, qualifications packages, and pursuit activities.

+ Participate in client meetings, presentations, and relationship-building efforts.

+ Identify and support new business opportunities.

+ Maintain strong working relationships with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.

+ Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives.

Collaboration & Quality

+ Coordinate closely with internal engineering disciplines and project teams.

+ Maintain high standards of technical excellence, quality, and safety.

+ Support office goals, team development, and a collaborative workplace culture.

+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.

+ Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

+ 10 to 15 years of mechanical engineering experience.

+ Extensive experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems.

+ Experience managing engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.

+ Experience utilizing HVAC load calculation software.

+ Strong understanding of mechanical, energy, and plumbing codes.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

+ Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

+ Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Project Management certifications or formal project management experience.

+ Experience leading interdisciplinary engineering projects.

+ Energy modeling experience.

+ Established relationships with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

+ Active participation in industry organizations and professional associations.

+ Experience supporting proposal development and business growth initiatives.
