IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Oklahoma City, OK, to lead large and highly complex mechanical projects as a project manager or lead engineer with minimal support from senior staff. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client guidance while overseeing project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. You'll also help manage project budgets, lead training and mentoring efforts, and collaborate across teams to achieve project goals and client expectations.Principal ResponsibilitiesLead and manage projects ranging in size and complexity through design and constructionServe as the primary point of contact for project teams and clientsCollaborate with business development staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors / Leaders during early project opportunitiesAssist with design scopes of work, fee calculations, proposal development, and contract reviewsCreate project schedules with key milestones and deadlinesManage monthly billings, billing projections, and estimated completion percentages, and submit financial information to Accounting on timeEnsure designs meet owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards, code requirements, and quality control expectationsCoordinate design staff scheduling, lead progress meetings, and provide meeting documentation throughout project phasesSupport project interviews and presentationsResolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders, mentor staff, and build strong client relationshipsRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License required10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industryDemonstrated leadership traits in the project management career path; ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead othersMastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systemsAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem‑solving skillsEagerness to adapt to new challengesProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.LocationsOklahoma City, OKBenefitsIMEG, an employee‑owned corporation, is committed to investing in employees' futures through professional development programs and opportunities for career advancement.
