    Description

    Terrelonge Staffing Solutions is working with a growing MEP design firm seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Tampa, FL. This is a long-term opportunity with a stable company focused on delivering high-quality design solutions across commercial, healthcare, government, and institutional projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the design and engineering of HVAC and plumbing systems for new construction and renovation projects

    • Prepare and review mechanical design calculations, specifications, and construction documents

    • Coordinate with clients, architects, and other engineers to ensure project alignment and code compliance

    • Oversee junior engineers and designers, providing technical mentorship and quality assurance

    • Perform site visits, system evaluations, and construction administration as needed

    • Stay current with industry standards, energy codes, and emerging technologies in mechanical systems

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

    • PE license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

    • 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design with an MEP consulting firm

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical load calculation software (e.g., Trane TRACE, HAP)

    • Deep knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical codes, energy modeling, and construction practices

    • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience leading projects in healthcare, commercial, or government sectors

    • Familiarity with sustainable design practices (LEED, energy modeling)

    • Knowledge of plumbing and fire protection systems a plus

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary range: $120,000 $145,000 depending on experience
