Orlando, United States | Posted on 03/01/2026An engineering firm specializing in process controls solutions and experts in the design, programming and deployment of automation systems for process, manufacturing, commercial buildings and public sector utilities is opening a Mechanical Engineer position in Orlando, Florida (USA).This is a great opportunity to join a 100% employee‑owned ESOP and one of the largest and most well‑established engineering companies in the United States skilled at electrical design, control system manufacturing, process integration, programming, testing, training, and ongoing support.This position is responsible for mechanical engineering on large scale projects.ResponsibilitiesProject requirements involving mechanical system design from scratch, analysis/calculations (stress/fatigue/etc.), acceleration forces, load calculations, material stress design, failure and effects analysis, risk assessment, component selection, mechanical system installation/commissioning.Responsible for system design from blank sheet of paper to create concept of mechanical components based on project requirements.Provide input and system modification as needed for system integration with other project disciplines.Manage vendor scope to verify safety, functionality, and all contract requirements are satisfied.Ensure design complies with any local or government agency design/implementation codes in addition to client codes/standards.Project technical risk assessment document generation and mitigation implementation.Design and analysis for safety critical parts within a mechanical system.Design redundant mitigations in system to increase safety and reliability.Design systems with complex motion and integration from automated systems.Develop documents of system configuration and design: Description of operation, detailed mechanical system design description, analysis reports, system implementation/acceptance test plans, system routine maintenance/job plans.EducationEducation: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. (Bachelor's degrees in other disciplines may be acceptable if work experience is directly related to electrical engineering. Disciplines outside of the electrical/controls area will not be considered).Experience7–10+ years of senior‑level mechanical engineering experience with proven ability to lead design projects from scratch or major modifications (from concept to execution), including major redesigns or new system development (50%+ redesign).Knowledge of techniques involving GD&T for large scale systems or systems with high duty cycle and fatigue requirements.Experience in ASTM standards, attractions industry, and safety engineering is preferred.Technical RequirementsPrior field or installation exposure: Candidates with desk‑based or continuous‑process only work experiences won't be a good match for this role.Preferred certifications and credentials: Ideally certifications such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) are a plus (non mandatory).Required tools/systems mastery: Advanced hands‑on proficiency with 3D mechanical design software, specifically SolidWorks (preferred), Creo, or Autodesk Inventor, demonstrated through leading design projects from concept to execution.Experience using software tools for mechanical system analysis including stress, fatigue, reliability, and tolerance calculations.Work ModelWork Model: 100% onsite at client/project locations.
