Senior Mechanical Engineer – Knoxville, TNThis position is not eligible for recruiting or sourcing by outside parties.Full‑time Senior Mechanical Engineer role based in Knoxville, TN. The role involves design, engineering, procurement, and construction processes in multi‑discipline power generation and industrial projects.ResponsibilitiesPreparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documents such as design criteria, calculations, drawings, and specifications.Assist in defining project objectives, preparing design estimates, and establishing project requirements and routine design approaches.Scope, estimate, organize, execute, and coordinate engineering projects, handling unique or complex technical requirements.Perform technical and coordination checking review of deliverables to ensure compliance with company procedures and design requirements.Direct overall project design and supervise development of project design and engineering documents.Apply basic knowledge of system design principles to develop complete and accurate design packages.Possess in‑depth knowledge of mechanical systems and inner workings – boilers, tanks/vessels, compressors/blowers, HRSG, turbines, major/minor piping systems, pumps.Conduct walkdowns, collect detailed field information related to site configuration, existing equipment data, and scoping efforts.Prepare calculations using engineering formulas or specific software as required.QualificationsExpert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.Strong knowledge of mechanical design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA).Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; preferred experience with Bluebeam, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Vault, Plant3D, Inventor, ReCap, SolidWorks, FARO Scene, and other 3D rendering programs.Experience with detailed stress analysis – in‑depth analysis of piping systems, custom piping components, or fabrication assemblies using AutoPIPE, Caesar II, Paulin PRG, Nastran, Inventor, or SolidWorks.Experience with mechanical engineering in power generation (coal, gas, hydro, nuclear) and understanding of client manufacturing, fabrication, and operational processes.Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.Seven years of applicable mechanical engineering experience.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Willingness to develop, promote, and comply with safety requirements.BenefitsPaid Time OffHoliday Pay – 10 days annuallyLife and disability insurance (company paid)401(k) retirement savings plan and matching contributionSection 125/Cafeteria planLong‑term care insuranceTuition and education reimbursementFitness center reimbursementAnnual performance bonus9/80 work schedule optionFSA and HSA optionsEqual Opportunity EmployerEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
