Job DescriptionResearches and analyzes data such as client design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.Works with clients to develop a project's scope of work, estimates, and/or schedules.Reviews and approves project drawings, standards and specifications.Develops major equipment and material selection, and construction specifications.Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.Ensures that all assigned activities and operations comply with applicable codes, regulations and laws.Provides support during fabrication and installation phases to ensure engineering documents are followed.Coordinates activities with other project disciplines involved in fabrication, operation, application, and installation or repair of various materials, products or systems.Provides technical direction, support and information to other engineers, designers and drafters.Consistently demonstrates professional skills in structuring assigned activities, creativity, teamwork, communications, operational efficiencies, handling of a client's changing needs, decision making, and analyzing and solving problems.Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.This position has no supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited institution required.Must have Alaska PE license.Minimum five (5) years engineering experience in the oil and gas industry required.Minimum two (2) years off-pad pipeline engineering experience.Engineering experience for projects on the North Slope – Alaska required.Proficiency in Bentley AutoPIPE or other piping stress analysis software preferred.Other ExperienceResponsible engineering experience including arctic pipeline, process piping, and/or HVAC system work. Prior experience should have included familiarity with ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 piping codes and material specifications, and with ASHRAE standards.Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management and clients.Mathematical SkillsComprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations and proofs. Ability to apply mathematical operations to work projects.Reasoning AbilityApply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with non-verbal symbols (formulas, equations, graphs) in difficult phases. Deal with abstract and concrete variables.
