The power generation market continues to grow and evolve given strong capacity demand signals that havent existed for over a decade. As a result our national Power Generation team is poised for monumental growth. We are seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to help our clients develop contract and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Engineer of Record or Owners Engineer. HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our national Power Generation team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be joining a highly capable multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects primarily within the utility IPP industrial and institutional sectors. Primary duties typically involve leadership of the project mechanical team coordination with other engineering disciplines monitoring and communication of project status and providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owners engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level. Preferred candidates will have significant experience utility-scale power generation systems and equipment and proven ability to plan schedule and lead design projects. Typical deliverables developed by this individual andor their team include construction drawings bid specifications mechanical equipment sizing calculations technical memos bid evaluations code reviews feasibility studies reports and cost estimates. Significant experience with the design and specification of power generation systems for simple cycle combined cycle distributed generation and RICE projects is preferred. Project roles will vary based on the size and type of the project as well as the capabilities experience and preferred focus of the engineer. Project roles will typically consist of lead mechanical engineer and project engineering manager and may include project manager.
