The Senior Mechanical Test Technician serves as a key contributor within the lab environment, responsible for executing complex mechanical and electrical testing to validate product performance and reliability. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with analytical problem-solving, supporting product development through accurate data collection, troubleshooting, and detailed reporting.

Acting as a subject matter expert, the Senior Mechanical Test Technician provides guidance on test methods, equipment, and results, while collaborating closely with engineers and lab leadership to prioritize work and drive efficient operations. The role also plays a critical part in continuous improvement efforts-enhancing test processes, refining lab equipment, and contributing to product improvements based on test findings and competitive analysis.

Success in this Senior Mechanical Test Technician position requires strong troubleshooting skills, proficiency with data acquisition systems (such as LabView and Dewesoft), and the ability to interpret complex data. Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct diverse and complex mechanical tests using a variety of electrical and mechanical test equipment techniques.
  • Provides detailed reports / incident reports and daily test logs.
  • May lead Lab activities and mentor other Technicians.
  • Set up, and troubleshoot data acquisition equipment, with the ability to interpret data.
  • Primary advisor (subject matter expert) when questions or concerns arise involving testing, product, test processes and results.
  • Provides feedback on workload / test status to Lab Supervisor / Test Engineers to set work priority.
  • Strong speaking and writing skills to effectively convey information, express opinions, and motivate others to act.
  • Make product improvement recommendations based on test results, observations, comparisons to other product, and competitive product knowledge.
