Salary/Hourly Rate: $85/hr - $92/hr
Position Overview: The Senior Medical Affairs Specialist will join a global Medical Communications team within Medical Affairs. The Senior Medical Affairs Specialist will use clinical and disease-state expertise to communicate the clinical value of the company's scientific data, partnering closely with Clinical, Regulatory, and Commercial teams. Responsibilities of the Senior Medical Affairs Specialist:- Develop and deliver medical responses to healthcare providers' off-label inquiries on a global scale, applying knowledge of local regulations and customs.
- Review global promotional materials for medical and scientific accuracy and compliance with regional regulations and industry guidelines.
- Inform evidence generation plans that support innovation, claims expansion, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate data management systems with external vendors to ensure compliance and optimal functionality.
- Develop and execute data dissemination plans for healthcare providers, patients, investors, and regulatory bodies.
- Analyze evidence on therapies, standards of care, and technologies to inform product development and commercial and regulatory strategy.
- Collaborate with Clinical and Regulatory Affairs on clinical summaries for global regulatory submissions.
- Plan and execute medical activities at international, national, and local scientific conferences.
- Mentor Medical Affairs interns.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Medical Affairs Specialist:- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in a clinical, industry, or research setting (doctorate-level education may offset some years).
- Experience critically appraising clinical evidence and translating key points for diverse audiences.
- Proven cross-functional project leadership and works independently with minimal guidance.
- Familiarity with global regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, and medical information/promotional review tools.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Medical Affairs Specialist:- 1 - 2+ years of global Medical Affairs experience in pharmaceutical or medical device organizations.
- Clinical or scientific background in diabetes and diabetes technologies (insulin pumps, CGM, automated insulin delivery).
- Healthcare credential (RD, RN, PA, NP, PharmD) and/or diabetes education certification (CDCES/CDE).
- Medical information and promotional material review experience.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field is required.
- Master's or advanced clinical degree is preferred.
