ABOUT IMMUNEERING
Immuneering Corporation (Nasdaq: IMRX) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing oncology therapies using its proprietary Deep Cyclic Inhibition platform. Our lead asset, atebimetinib (IMM-1-104), is an oral, once-daily Deep Cyclic Inhibitor of MEK in active Phase 2 and Phase 3 (MAPKeeper 301) clinical trials in pancreatic cancer and RAS-mutant non-small cell lung cancer, as well as additional solid tumor programs. We are committed to delivering transformative treatments to patients with limited options through rigorous science and a collaborative, mission-driven culture.
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a foundational hire. As Immuneering's first US-based field medical employee, this role will establish the company's scientific presence with key opinion leaders and academic oncology centers nationwide. This role is best suited for a senior MSL who is willing to engage with KOLs enthusiastically and build a rapport with the scientific community, with the strategic vision and potential to grow into a leadership position within a lean, mission-driven organization. The selected MSL may have the opportunity to assist with the company's international MSL buildout across Western Europe, Central-Eastern Europe, and the Australia/APAC region, and could quickly step into the role of Field Medical Director.
US Field Medical Affairs
- Develop and manage peer-to-peer scientific relationships with oncology KOLs, academic investigators, and institutional stakeholders at priority centers including MSKCC, City of Hope, OHSU, and the SCRI/USON/OneOncology networks and others.
- As a major priority, this individual will support investigator identification and engagement for MAPKeeper 301 Phase 3 enrollment; facilitate site activation and scientific readiness at high-enrolling centers.
- Deliver accurate, balanced, and compliant scientific exchange on Immuneering's Deep Cyclic Inhibition mechanism, MAPKeeper in metastatic pancreatic cancer, atebimetinib + cemiplimab in RAS-mutant NSCLC and other possible studies related to the MAPK pathway.
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare professionals in accordance with FDA guidelines on scientific exchange.
- Generate and communicate field insights - including HCP perspectives, competitive intelligence, and clinical practice patterns - to Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Commercial stakeholders.
- Provide flexible US territory coverage (East, Central/South, West) based on enrollment priorities and KOL geography.
- Represent Immuneering at national and regional oncology congresses (possibly including ASCO, AACR, ESMO and others).
Global MSL Network Leadership
- Partner with Medical Affairs leadership to develop scientific messaging frameworks, training curricula, and field activity standards for the global consultant network.
- May quickly transform into a leadership position as the Field Medical Director, which would entail managing the buildout of Immuneering's OUS consultant MSL network across the UK/Western Europe, Central-Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania), and Australia/APAC.
- Contribute to MSL infrastructure, SOPs, and reporting frameworks as Immuneering scales toward commercialization or partnership.
Education
- Advanced degree in a health science discipline (MD, PharmD, PhD, or MSN/NP/PA with oncology specialization)
- 3-5+ years of MSL experience in oncology; prior experience at a biotech or clinical-stage company strongly preferred
Technical / Soft Skills
Required
- Established KOL relationships in pancreatic cancer, thoracic oncology, or a closely adjacent tumor type
- Deep understanding of clinical trial design, oncology drug development, and FDA-compliant scientific exchange
- Ability to translate complex mechanistic science (RAS/MAPK pathway biology, adaptive resistance, combination strategies) for diverse oncology audiences
- Willingness and ability to travel 50-60% domestically; occasional international travel for global team alignment and congresses
- US-based; eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred
- Background in RAS/MEK pathway biology, GI oncology, or thoracic oncology
- Experience supporting Phase 2 or Phase 3 clinical trial enrollment as an MSL
- Prior experience in a lead MSL, field medical director, or senior leadership field medical role
- Familiarity with medical affairs operations in an international or multi-regional context
- Experience working with or coordinating medical affairs consultants or CRO-based MSL models
