Charles Schwab User Experience Design

Charles Schwab User Experience Design is responsible for software design across mobile, web and desktop platforms. We are a multi-disciplinary group of design system product designers, and researchers. The Mobile UX team designs native mobile experiences that help clients manage their financial lives. As a platform team, inter-team collaboration and influence are central to our work.

We are looking for a Senior Mobile User Experience Designer (individual contributor) to drive platform standards and deliver high-quality iOS and Android experiences at scale.

Design Standards and Execution

  • Create and maintain mobile design patterns for iOS and Android
  • Drive modernization through audits and iterative design
  • Produce high-quality design deliverables and conduct expert-level QA

Collaboration

  • Facilitate design sessions and lead design reviews
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive decisions and align on outcomes
  • Incorporate feedback and iterate toward strong design solutions

Design Management

  • Set expectations, prioritize work, and manage design timelines
  • Evaluate and incorporate feedback to advance designs
  • Partner with other UX teams to deliver platform-wide improvements

Empathy & Curiosity

  • Understand user needs, walking in their shoes when possible
  • Focus on innovation that presents a vision of the future with steps to get there
  • Regularly learn more about design theory, practice, and tools

What You Have

  • On your resume, please include a link (and password, if required) to an online portfolio demonstrating UX design process and thinking, including artifacts and examples of how you arrived at the final design.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of rich interaction design experience for touch-based mobile interfaces across iOS and Android operating platforms
  • Documented experience with all aspects of a user-centered interaction design process, including user research, developing user flows, creating wireframes, conducting usability tests and creating annotated design specifications
  • Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team within an iterative process and an Agile development methodology
  • Strong proficiency in Figma
  • Familiarity with Material Design and the Apple Human Interface Guidelines
  • Experience running design sessions with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of focus on design systems for mobile native platforms: writing design documentation and contributing to the evolution of mobile design systems
  • 2+ years of experience designing for Android native mobile apps
  • Strong prototyping skills
  • Experience generating UIs with AI tools that integrate into code
