    The role provides project leadership to the supply chain organization by leading and supporting various continuous improvement strategic initiatives with primary focus on molding and extrusion capital projects. Responsibilities include delivering on project objectives, and scoping of continuous improvement and strategic initiatives. This individual should have project management experience, possess high standards of professional performance, be a self-starter and must be able to communicate with and influence people throughout the organization. This position reports to the Molding and Extrusion Engineering Team Manager and receives direction in the form of broad project and initiative objectives.

    Job Position Scope:

    • Project responsibility of $100k to $4MM
    • Project teams of two to fifteen people
    • Multiple projects in parallel

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides leadership and collaboration within a cross functional team during the scoping and execution of projects
    • Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects
    • Manages scope and mitigates risk across projects
    • Effectively achieves results that meet business and individual objectives
    • Leads process improvement efforts using manufacturing tools and methods
    • Supports molded component and extrusion implementations and process validations
    • Applies statistical analysis techniques to quantify current process capabilities
    • Manages multiple external partners (i.e. molding building vendors, engineering service providers, equipment vendors, etc.)
    • Completes all work in a safe manner consistent with AVANOS safety & quality protocols
    • Is flexible on work hours and travel required to support international manufacturing sites, vendors and suppliers
    • Manages self and team in accordance with the AVANOS values

    Qualifications Required:

    • Candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related major scientific discipline from an accredited college or university
    • 9+ years of experience in a variety of technical and operational assignments
    • Project management and leadership experience within the medical device industry
    • Experience with injection molding and tooling
    • Experience leading capital projects
    • A demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects within required timeframes
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experienced and comfortable presenting to various levels of the organization (leadership and project teams)
    • Experience leading continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiencies and costs

    Job is expected to require 25% travel on average, up to 70% in peak project load times or during a manufacturing or supply crisis. International and domestic travel required. Position will be required to be onsite three days a week at the office in Alpharetta, GA.

    Preferred:

    • PMP certification
    • Bi-lingual skills. Spanish is strongly preferred
    • Experience working with global teams
    • Manufacturing experience in a plant environment
    • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification
    • Experience and expertise with medical device products, procedures, and processes
    • Experience leading IQ, OQ, PQ validations/protocols for manufacturing processes in an FDA regulated industry
