Overview:

The Senior Mortgage Loan Funder is responsible for managing the end-to-end funding process for mortgage loans, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full regulatory compliance. This role serves as a subject matter expert and key escalation point, providing guidance to junior team members while partnering cross-functionally with underwriting, closing, title/escrow, and secondary market teams to ensure seamless loan funding and delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the closing and funding process for mortgage loans, performing a comprehensive review of executed loan documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Review and validate closing packages, including Notes, Closing Disclosures, settlement statements, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure all underwriting approvals and prior-to-funding conditions are cleared prior to disbursement
  • Act as a senior liaison with escrow officers, title companies, and settlement agents to coordinate timely and accurate loan closings
  • Prepare and authorize funding disbursements, including reviewing and approving wire instructions in accordance with fraud prevention and company policies
  • Conduct detailed reviews of Loan Estimates, Closing Disclosures, and settlement statements to ensure adherence to TRID and other regulatory requirements
  • Identify, resolve, and escalate discrepancies or compliance issues prior to funding
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and quality oversight to junior funders and team members
  • Assist in developing and improving funding processes, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk
  • Support audits, quality control reviews, and compliance examinations as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • At least four years of experience in mortgage funding, closing, processing, or loan operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Strong expertise in mortgage regulations, including TRID, RESPA, and TILA, as well as closing documentation requirements
  • Advanced experience with Loan Origination Systems (e.g., Encompass) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex loan scenarios
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders
  • Ability to mentor and support team members while acting as a subject matter expert

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $35.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
