Senior .NET/SSIS developer

An industry-leading enterprise organization is seeking a highly skilled contract developer to take ownership of a critical suite of batch processes. In this role, you will focus on the maintenance, modernization, and enhancement of dozens of mission-critical jobs, leveraging your expertise in .NET and SSIS. You will be responsible for supporting vital data pipelines and scheduled workflows in a fast-paced environment. This is an individual contributor role built for a hands-on developer who can deliver immediate results, ensure operational stability, and drive execution with minimal ramp-up time.

Minimum qualifications

·        5+ years of software development experience

·        Strong hands-on experience with SSIS package development and support

·        Advanced SQL Server expertise, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning

·        Experience building and supporting SQL-based batch jobs

·        Working knowledge of .NET and C# used in backend or batch workflows

·        Experience supporting scheduled and automated jobs in production environments

·        Strong troubleshooting skills for batch failures and complex data issues

Preferred qualifications

·        Experience working with enterprise job schedulers such as SQL Agent, Control-M, or Autosys

·        Experience working with and modernizing legacy batch jobs

·        Familiarity with Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

·        Previous experience working within financial services or highly regulated enterprise environments

Responsibilities

·        Develop, enhance, and support SSIS-based SQL batch jobs.

·        Build and maintain highly reliable ETL and data movement pipelines.

·        Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for maximum performance and reliability.

·        Support batch execution and monitoring while leading issue resolution efforts.

·        Perform thorough root cause analysis for data or job failures in production.

·        Document SSIS packages, batch logic, data flows, and delivered work clearly.

·        Collaborate closely with quality assurance, production support, and full-time engineering teams to ensure seamless operations.
