Job Title: Senior Network Cloud Engineer
Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid – some remote work allowed)
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Note: Need local candidates // No visa sponsorship // No C2C.

Note: Need local candidates or local to Georgia or North Carolina will be considered if they are willing to relocate to South Carolina at their own expense.


Scope of the Project
:
The Senior Network Cloud Engineer will collaborate with Product Owners, Application Owners, and Network and Security teams to design and deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions. This role involves hands-on engineering and implementation work across AWS and Azure environments, with a strong emphasis on network security, firewall management, and automation. The engineer will work within large-scale enterprise and hybrid environments, supporting compliance, monitoring, and zero-trust initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Design and deploy highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure and applications across AWS and Azure.
Configure, deploy, and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls (including Cloud VM series) in both AWS and Azure environments.
Implement firewall policies, VPN configurations, NAT rules, and threat prevention features in alignment with security standards.
Work with Security Operations teams to build and maintain SIEM, SOAR, and XDR solutions.
Automate cloud security operations using Infrastructure-as-Code and DevSecOps best practices.
Support network design, routing, and segmentation in hybrid environments.
Build and maintain cloud security accelerators and reusable IP to enhance efficiency.
Ensure compliance with federal and state security frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, PCI, CMMC, SOX, PII, CUI).
Collaborate cross-functionally to remediate vulnerabilities and optimize network performance.
Document all security tool configurations, deployment methods, and incident response procedures.
Participate in audits, risk assessments, and change management processes.

Required Skills:
5–10 years of experience in Information Security, Networking, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
5+ years of experience with Firewalls in AWS and Azure (design, deployment, configuration, and maintenance).
5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls (including VM Series, Panorama, and Prisma Cloud).
Proven expertise in AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including VPC/VNet design, routing, and load balancing.
Strong understanding of Cloud Security Architecture and Zero Trust principles.
Experience with security automation, monitoring, and logging (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk).
Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and executive-level reporting.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with:

Prisma Cloud, Forescout, Cisco Umbrella, F5 Load Balancers, and Firewall Management.
Network security controls, segmentation, and encryption in multi-cloud environments.
DevSecOps tools and automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, Terraform).
Prior experience supporting state or local government cloud environments.

Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Required Certifications: AWS or Azure Certification.

Preferred Certifications:
CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
SC-100 – Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect
AWS Certified Solutions Architect
Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer
PCNSA / PCNSE
