Senior IT Systems Engineer – Citrix NetScaler Client / Cloud Migration

Description
Senior IT Systems Engineer responsible for monitoring, installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise technology solutions. This role provides technical support, troubleshoots complex issues, and performs scripting/automation to ensure stable, efficient operations. The Senior Engineer drives automation and process improvement initiatives across multiple complex systems, leads technical initiatives, oversees work results, and serves as a subject matter resource for other engineers.
Essential Functions
- Installs, monitors, tests, configures, migrates, and maintains assigned technologies
- Manages system/application environments and ongoing operations
- Ensures technologies remain current, stable, and compliant with enterprise architecture standards
- Supports cloud migration/transformation from a load balancing perspective, including native cloud LB and 3rd-party/hybrid solutions
- Researches, designs, implements, and tests technology solutions
- Proactively monitors and reports on performance/utilization of assigned technologies
- Troubleshoots software/hardware issues and failures
- Resolves alerts and performs remediation activities
- Manages escalated tickets, problem tasks, and out-of-cycle requests
- Collects and presents data for reporting and planning
- Assists in developing tactical strategies, processes, and procedures for systems/application administration
- Determines migration/upgrade impacts; diagnoses and resolves complex technical errors
- Collaborates with IT and business partners on cross-functional initiatives
- May provide input into infrastructure architecture designs
- Writes scripts/programs for automation and remediation
- May participate in Disaster Recovery planning and exercises
- Ensures execution aligns with architectural standards and blueprints
- Performs on-call support as needed
Requirements
- 5 years designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting infrastructure software products
- 7 years administering Citrix NetScaler Client — including L4/L7 routing, PCAP analysis, hardware refresh, and migrations
- 3 years of cloud migration/transformation experience ( AWS preferred)
- 3 years managing SSL certificates
- 3 years administering Fortinet FortiProxy Server or similar (firmware upgrades, patching)
- Strong experience across Windows and Linux environments
- Strong experience in vulnerability management and audit support
- Strong scripting/programming skills (PowerShell, Java, Python, etc.) for audits and automated task scheduling
- Ability to support systems on a 24x7 on-call rotation
- Experience in large-scale system implementations
- Strong critical thinking to evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions aligned with business objectives
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven leadership: knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation, fairness
Education
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent work experience
Preferred
Development experience a plus
Work Environment
Hybrid — schedule determined by role requirements/business needs. Occasional travel to corporate/regional offices may be required.
