Compass Point LLC is looking to hire a Senior Network Engineer to join us in supporting one of our current government customers at Hurlburt Field, Florida. This position provides Engineering Support to the USSOCOM Special Operations Forces Training Support Center (STSC) and connected locations. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for surveying, designing, implementing, testing, and documenting enterprise class networks in support of our warfighters.


This Senior Network Engineer is viewed as an expert in network technologies and must be able to turn customer requirements into functional solutions by coordinating and providing network troubleshooting guidance to forward units; identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems affecting network performance; provide planning and engineering guidance to network planners; and develop and maintain network SOPs and TTPs. Responsibilities


+ Senior Network Engineer will pair knowledge of network infrastructure and network hardware to coordinate, plan, and implement network solutions and associated security measures for protecting data and hardware/software (HW/SW) residing on the network.

+ Administer and troubleshoot network devices including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.

+ Administer and troubleshoot computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications, HW/SW, cryptographic devices, and associated configurations.

+ Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups - when required. IAW all DoD directives, manuals, instructions, and standards - design, install, secure, operate, and maintain the STEN infrastructure in achieving the security, connectivity, bandwidth, and throughput necessary for compiling, managing, and transporting data to meet the quality-of-service requirements for the reliable and responsive delivery of distributed simulator-based LVC training events.


Qualifications


+ Active TS/SCI required.

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer or information science or a related field and eight years of experience in data center services.

+ In addition to SNE qualifications, must have complete understanding of systems design to include servers, storage, operating systems, and interconnecting network devices.

+ Current certifications IAW DoD 8570.01-M and DoDD 8140.01; Security + is the minimum requirement.

+ Must have a working knowledge of cybersecurity enforcement, vulnerability remediation, and Authority to Operate control implementation.

+ Must lead team(s), manage/prioritize multiple IT tasks and projects.

+ Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and execute systems, network, and facility upgrade projects as required for modernization efforts.

+ Assist government leads in technical refresh and life cycle management of IT HW/SW.

+ Expertly perform all tasks required of SNE.


Desired Qualifications:


+ Cisco, ASA Firewall experience.

+ Expertise in distributed interactive simulation (DIS) and High-Level Architecture (HLA) protocols.

+ Experience with VLANs, trunking, Quality of Service, static/dynamic routing and high availability configuration.

+ CCNP preferred.

+ Experience with Type One Encryptors (KG encryption devices).

+ Solid working knowledge in the planning, design, integration, optimization, operations, security, and support of enterprise network infrastructures.

+ Experience in systems design and architecting for operational and tactical theater network installations and upgrades.

+ Experience managing infrastructure of small-size operational networks (routers/switches, servers, workstations) in a high-paced fluid environment.

+ Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills at the system engineer level.

+ Ability to research, analyze, recommend, and implement new technologies, standard processes, tools, and techniques.
