Senior Network Engineer

Description:

Quantum Sky is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the Networking team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing robust and efficient network infrastructure solutions for our data center environments. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain cutting edge and complex Layer 2/3 data center architectures using BGP, ECMP, VxLAN, MCLAG, Spine/Leaf topologies, RoCEv2, and other related technologies. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective network solutions. 
• Provide expert guidance and support to junior team members, assisting them in their professional growth and development. 
• Stay updated on the latest networking trends and best practices; proactively seek out new learning opportunities to enhance technical expertise. 
• Contribute to the documentation of network infrastructure designs and configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing among team members. 
• Travel up to 20% of the time, as required, to perform on-site installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites or data centers. 

Qualifications:

Required:

• Proven experience in designing, configuring, and managing complex BGP, VxLAN and Layer 2/3 Data Center architectures. 
• Expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex L2/L3 topologies.
• Experience with redundancy protocols such as MCLAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation Group) or LACP. 
• Experience with Spine-Leaf data center fabrics, architecture design, and implementation. 
• Ability and willingness to become skilled at troubleshooting, designing, and monitoring RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCEv2) supporting ultra high-speed data transfers.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (domestic and international) as required. 
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work. 
• Ability to stay updated on industry trends and technology advancements; willingness to continue learning new things. 
• Linux-Based NOS (Network Operating System) experience preferred.

Clearance: 

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence polygraph 
• Have current IAM Level II to satisfy DOD 8570 IAT requirements

Compensation:

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $230,000-$250,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
