Senior Network Engineer

Duration: 8+ months | Location: Onsite at Mechanicsville, VA

Job Overview:

Seeking for an Senior Network Engineer to enhance and support IT Network infrastructure. The role involves daily activities related to support, documentation, research, analysis, and implementation of network-related infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and troubleshoot enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers.
• Identify and diagnose system problems using line monitors, diagnostic software, and test equipment.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to ensure accurate and up-to-date network configurations.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network issues affecting application performance and uptime.
• Oversee installation, documentation, and upgrades of data network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations.
• Provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls as needed.
• Work independently on assigned projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• 8+ years of experience setting up, configuring, upgrading, managing, and troubleshooting routers/switches, and WAPS.
• 8+ years of experience designing, installing, and troubleshooting local-area and wide-area enterprise networks.
• Industry-standard networking certification (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA-Junos).
• 8+ years of experience monitoring IT environments for compliance with information security, architecture policies, and standards.
• 8+ years of experience creating repeatable, reliable, scalable network architectures with fault tolerance.
• 8+ years of experience in performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection, and disaster recovery.
• 8+ years of experience creating network diagrams using industry-standard tools such as Visio.
• 8+ years of experience with networking features and protocols such as ARP, CDP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VTP, EtherChannel, HSRP, QoS, multicast, IPsec, etc.
• 3+ years of experience working with SDWAN (desired).
• 3+ years of experience with network topology related to Cloud (desired).
• 3+ years of familiarity and experience working with cloud networking (desired).
