Seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to be a high-level subject matter expert and trusted advisor for large enterprise customers. This role requires a blend of autonomous technical leadership and hands-on execution to manage the deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex network security products within a customer’s environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Advisory: Provide expert guidance to customer operational and design staff on network security products and sales strategies.

  • Incident & Problem Management: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, replicate configurations in lab environments, and track/escalate software defects.

  • Security Operations Support: Assist customer security teams with attack mitigations, including pre-attack preparation, live assistance during attacks, and post-attack reviews.

  • Deployment & Optimization: Lead software upgrades, perform system tuning, and develop "Method of Procedure" (MOP) documentation for maintenance activities.

  • Knowledge Transfer: Deliver technical workshops and presentations to customer staff and collaborate with internal engineering and product management teams.

  • Documentation: Generate customer-specific technical documentation and report on the functional requirements of installed solutions.

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, ECE, or a related field.

  • Experience: 5+ years in service delivery or technical support within telecom and routing environments.

  • Networking Expertise: Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, and Routing. Experience with NetFlow is highly desirable.

  • Security Domain: Proficiency in network security protocols (HTTP/S, SSL/TLS, DNS, VPN, IPSEC) and DDoS mitigation techniques.

  • Systems & Tools: * OS: Intermediate to advanced Linux/Unix/Solaris administration.

    • Analysis: Expert packet analysis and debugging using Wireshark/Tshark.

    • Monitoring: Familiarity with SNMP and tools like SolarWinds or MRTG.

  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a high-accountability environment.

  • Travel: Ability to travel to customer sites and international corporate events as required.
