Senior Network Systems Engineer

Location: Santa Clarita, CA
Weekly Pay Rate: $1,923.08 - $2,596.15

A leading motorsports and high-performance engineering organization is seeking a Senior Network Systems Engineer to join its Information Systems team. This role is responsible for maintaining a secure, stable, and highly available network and infrastructure environment that supports critical business and engineering operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep enterprise networking expertise, strong cybersecurity knowledge, and a proactive approach to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Position Summary
The Senior Network Systems Engineer will oversee network infrastructure, security operations, disaster recovery readiness, and system performance while collaborating with internal stakeholders, corporate teams, security groups, and external vendors. This position requires a hands-on technical leader who can troubleshoot complex issues, implement best practices, and ensure the organization's network environment remains secure, reliable, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure
  • Design, maintain, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and IPSec tunnel environments.
  • Manage routing, switching, MPLS connections, firewalls, and network connectivity across multiple locations.
  • Monitor network performance, latency, NTP synchronization, and overall infrastructure health.
  • Support data center operations and maintain high availability of critical systems and services.
  • Ensure robust network monitoring, alerting, and performance reporting.

Security & Risk Management
  • Administer firewall policies, governance, and access controls.
  • Support vulnerability management and remediation initiatives.
  • Manage endpoint and network security technologies, including CrowdStrike, Windows Firewall, DLP solutions, and threat protection tools.
  • Participate in audits by maintaining technical documentation and evidence packages.
  • Assist with risk assessments, security reviews, and continuous improvement of security controls.

Operations & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration documentation, asset inventories, and operational procedures.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and readiness activities.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and proactive infrastructure reviews.
  • Utilize automation and AI-assisted tools to improve operational efficiency and incident response.
  • Drive process improvements, standardization efforts, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call support and troubleshoot critical infrastructure issues as needed.
