Description of Duties

This position, in the health care field, is responsible for performing a variety of direct and indirect services for chronically ill and convalescent resident/patients. This position is distinguished from Nursing Assistant by virtue of being responsible for the training and mentoring of Nursing Assistant and Unit Aide staff in a unit. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a licensed nurse or other higher-level staff member. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this position. Does related work as required.

Note: This position is located in the Food and Nutrition Department. The main focus of duties will be in obtaining and documenting resident weights, assisting with passing trays and feeding, recording meal and fluid intake, nourishment passes, completion of audits and meal satisfaction surveys ad educating and training and educating CNA's on these tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalency experience in patient care in a hospital or long term care setting.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New York State Nursing Aide Certification issued by the New York State Aide Registry.
