As a Senior or above Marine/ Mechanical Engineer, you will be actively engaged in driving industry-leading research and development associated with machinery and systems for offshore applications.

What You Will Do:
  • Experience working on offshore facilities, especially drilling and production platforms.
  • Good understanding of how offshore platforms are designed and operated, including process systems, compression, pipelines, risers, and injection systems.
  • Familiarity with offshore CO 2 injection, carbon capture and storage (CCS), hydrogen, and ammonia production systems.
  • Familiarity with electrolyzer, water treatment, storage systems, venting, and offshore safety systems.
  • Experience with platform layout and system integration, including hazardous areas, space and weight limits, access, fire and safety, and day-to-day operation.
  • Experience participating in HAZOPs, risk assessments, process safety reviews, and design reviews.
  • Ability to help develop operating plans and procedures for offshore process and injection operations.
  • Understanding of classification, regulatory, and technical requirements for offshore and marine systems.
  • Experience providing technical support for offshore mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Technical publications, presentations, or involvement in industry groups is a plus.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years relevant engineering experience in the energy industry, shipyard, design/consulting company, shipping/oil company, university, or classification society.
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical/ marine/ engineering or other related discipline; M.S. is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of offshore platforms machinery and systems including evolving technologies e.g., Carbon capturing (both pre and post combustion), CO 2 transportation. Basic understanding of marine piping systems (e.g., fresh water, sea water, lubrication oil, fuel oil, compressed air, hydraulic system, cryogenics piping etc.
  • Knowledge of general mechanical systems
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and trends in the marine industry including emerging engines, fuels, power generation.
  • Strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent command of the English language.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others.

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily sedentary. Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports, assigned, to an MPE, SMPE, Manager or Director.
