Description

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a Senior Oracle DBA /Architect (Oracle Performance & Data Guard) for their Palm Beach Gardens, FL location.

Responsibilities:

This role is for an experienced team member specializing in Oracle database performance and resilience within a multinational environment. The individual will focus on optimizing Oracle performance, managing Oracle OEM installation and configuration, securing databases, and administering Data Guard solutions. The role is office based during the day shift with no travel requirement, supporting critical business applications and stable data platforms.
Optimize complex Oracle database workloads by analyzing performance metrics and tuning configurations to ensure reliable and efficient transaction processing for critical business applications.
Administer Oracle databases by managing schema objects, storage structures, backup routines, and routine maintenance activities to maintain high data availability and integrity.
Monitor Oracle instances using Oracle Enterprise Manager by configuring alerts, baselines, and dashboards to proactively detect potential issues and maintain stable production environments.
Execute Oracle performance tuning activities by refining queries, indexes, and memory parameters to reduce response times and improve capacity utilization across multiple environments.
Implement Oracle Data Guard configurations by setting up primary and standby databases and validating synchronization to deliver robust disaster recovery capabilities and business continuity.
Maintain Oracle database security administration by defining access controls, managing privileges, and enforcing encryption and auditing policies to protect sensitive enterprise data.
Troubleshoot complex database incidents by performing root cause analysis and applying corrective actions to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence of performance or stability problems.
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams by reviewing deployment plans and database design choices to align configurations with business requirements and capacity forecasts.
Document operational procedures for Oracle administration tasks by maintaining clear runbooks, configuration records, and recovery guidelines to support consistent and reliable operations.
Support day shift office operations by providing timely responses to service requests and change activities to ensure smooth daily functioning of data driven business processes.
Enhance automation for routine Oracle tasks by utilizing scripts and tools to streamline monitoring, maintenance, and reporting activities and reduce manual effort.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing system performance trends and proposing optimization changes that advance organizational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Guide peers through knowledge sharing sessions focused on Oracle performance, Data Guard, and security best practices to strengthen team capability and service quality.

Prior experience working with large teams
Oracle DBA with 15+ years of experience**
Should have exposure to enterprise database platforms.
Should have worked on RMAN, backup scripting, Data guard, Performance tuning
Capacity Planning, use of tools OEM etc.
Knowledge of Shell scripting
Should have exposure to Databases on AWS (RDS)
Demonstrate extensive experience in Oracle performance and tuning through successful optimization of large scale production systems and complex transactional workloads.
Apply deep expertise in Oracle Enterprise Manager installation and configuration to build effective monitoring frameworks and operational dashboards for multiple environments.
Utilize strong Oracle database administration skills including backup and recovery, space management, and instance configuration to support resilient and scalable platforms.
Exhibit proven capability in Oracle database security administration by designing robust role structures and enforcing compliance aligned security controls.
Show solid experience in Oracle Data Guard implementation and management by maintaining reliable primary and standby setups and validating switchover and failover procedures.
Bring broad exposure of working as a senior team member in office-based day shift environments for more than fifteen years in large technology organizations.
