As a Senior Painter, you will play a key role in industrial wet paint and powder coat operations involving structural components, fabricated assemblies, and custom production work. This role requires advanced painting knowledge, attention to detail, leadership by example, and the ability to maintain consistent quality with minimal supervision.

Position Summary
The Senior Painter is responsible for performing advanced industrial painting operations while supporting production workflow, paint quality, troubleshooting, and department efficiency. This position requires strong experience with wet paint and powder coat systems, process setup, finish inspection, and production support activities.
The ideal candidate is capable of handling complex painting tasks, performing high-quality touch-up work, supporting root cause analysis investigations, and assisting in the training and development of paint department personnel.
Responsibilities
- Apply industrial wet paint and powder coat finishes to fabricated metal components and assemblies
- Perform touch-up work on critical or high-complexity parts without damaging finished products
- Prepare paint mixtures and production materials according to specifications
- Perform initial setup and adjustment of curing ovens for production operations
- Detect, troubleshoot, and correct paint finish defects and inconsistencies
- Support root cause analysis investigations related to paint adhesion or finish quality issues
- Maintain consistent finish quality and production efficiency
- Assist in training and supporting Production Painters and Painter Helpers
- Implement and improve hooks, racks, and hanging methods to increase production efficiency
- Support process improvement initiatives within the paint department
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all paint procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Support production schedules and overall department workflow
Painting & Production Skills
- Advanced experience with industrial wet paint and powder coat applications required
- Strong understanding of industrial paint adhesion and coating quality standards
- Ability to perform precision touch-up work on critical or complex painted components
- Experience identifying and correcting paint defects and finish inconsistencies
- Familiarity with curing oven setup and production flow optimization
- Ability to analyze production issues and support corrective actions
- Experience supporting training and development of paint department personnel
- Strong understanding of paint preparation, mixing, and application techniques
- Ability to maintain high production consistency with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail, finish quality, and workflow efficiency

- Hanging racks, hooks, and production fixtures

Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial painting experience preferred
- Experience with wet paint and powder coat systems required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding of industrial paint processes and finish quality standards
- Ability to maintain productivity and quality in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Strong work ethic and leadership mentality
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with structural steel or custom fabrication projects
- Experience training or mentoring paint department personnel
- Familiarity with production improvement initiatives and workflow optimization
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Industrial coating certifications are a plus, but not required
Compensation
- Starting pay: $24/hour
- Full-time position
- 40 hours guaranteed per week

Work Environment
This position works inside a manufacturing and industrial paint facility. Employees may be exposed to paint fumes, dust, heat, noise, and production equipment. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
