Senior Paralegal - Albuquerque, NM

Duration: 12 months, Onsite

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor.
  • Perform moderately complex legal research and draft preliminary legal memoranda.
  • Prepare and review a variety of technical legal documents, ensuring conformity with local court rules.
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation by organizing trial exhibits and witness notebooks.
  • Coordinate with victim/witness specialists and notify relevant staff of issues.
  • Verify legal citations and statutory references using online resources like Westlaw and Lexis/Nexis.
  • Proofread, edit, and electronically file legal documents with the U.S. District Court.
  • Manage discovery processing and production using tools like Adobe Acrobat and IPRO Eclipse.
  • Maintain electronic case files and manage case-related data in the case management system.
  • Perform docketing duties and respond to inquiries regarding pending and closed matters.
  • Arrange travel and prepare related authorizations and vouchers.
  • Utilize office software applications for document production, including Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Required Skills:

  • At least two years of litigation paralegal experience or relevant project experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in automated litigation support.
  • Sound knowledge of federal and state court systems and legal research procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools like LEXIS and Westlaw.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure.

Education:

  • Paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study completed, or equivalent legal training or experience.
