Senior Paralegal Specialist - Private Wealth (Confidential)

Overview
A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Paralegal Specialist to support its Private Wealth practice in New York. This role partners closely with attorneys and high-net-worth clients on complex trusts & estates and probate matters.
This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a client-facing environment, demonstrates strong judgment, and can manage both substantive casework and junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, trustees, beneficiaries, and advisors (e.g., accountants, financial planners)
Prepare federal estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 and 709), asset schedules, and supporting documentation
Draft probate and administration pleadings; assist with estate and trust administration matters
Prepare fiduciary accountings and oversee allocation of estate/trust assets to beneficiaries
Coordinate asset transfers, including securities, real property, and personal assets
Communicate with financial institutions, appraisers, and other third parties to identify and collect estate assets
Assist with guardianship proceedings, including drafting petitions and maintaining ongoing reporting requirements
Draft ancillary estate planning and administration documents
Supervise, train, and mentor junior paralegals; assist with workflow coordination and staffing
Ensure accuracy, organization, and confidentiality across all work product
Support additional projects as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 15+ years of experience in private wealth, trusts & estates, or probate as a paralegal
Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required
Deep knowledge of probate and trust administration for complex, taxable estates
Experience preparing federal estate and gift tax returns
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems (e.g., iManage)
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet deadlines
Strong drafting, proofreading, and communication skills
Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff preferred
High level of professionalism, discretion, and client service orientation
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $140,000 - $190,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
