Primary Directive: The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for working in the system to review, configure, and test complex collective bargaining agreement provisions, federal and local labor statutes. This role supports the Payroll team and payroll operations' area and is highly focused on delivering operational excellence, ensuring accurate gross payroll results as well as contributing to functional testing and design. This position will be responsible for helping manage the wages and fringe rate contract tables and advice on expected payroll calculations for various agreement provisions.
The Senior Payroll Analyst main tasks/ responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Review and analyze the pay conditions of complex union/ labor agreements. • Work with payroll union reporting team to update contract information/ rules as necessary. • Design and update regression testing, expected results, as well as perform testing of rules and functionality for unions. • Configure the pay rules and conditions within the union reporting for the various labor agreements. • Provide hands-on support to Payroll with new rules and system functionality. • Develop, maintain, and manage frequent updates to multiple databases, spreadsheets, reports to support the functions of the payroll. • Build a thorough understanding of all available data sources and understands variances between these sources. • Participation in the payroll processes, by ensuring updates to union fringe benefits and reporting are completed timely. • Troubleshooting system problems with union reporting, rates, and fringe benefits. • Generation, maintenance, and running of ad - hoc and pre- established payroll reports. • Handle day to day data needs for reporting and analysis. • Responsible for improvement in execution/automation pertaining to reporting and data management. • Build spreadsheets that include advance and interactive functions such as macros/pivot tables or other advanced formulas.
Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field • Three (3) years Payroll experience or five (5) years of Payroll related experience with supervision, and increasing Payroll related responsibilities. • Experience with web-based resources to research payroll issues. • Detailed understanding of payroll reports/registers. • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. • Facilitation/presentation skills. • Time and Labor • Communication and organizational skills.
