Job Title: Senior Payroll Analyst
Location: San Francisco, CA 94104
Duration: 9 Months

Job Description:
- Lead end-to-end processing for assigned payrolls (e.g., multi-state .), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Review and approve payroll calculations, including earnings, deductions, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and special payments.
- Validate and reconcile payroll data from HRIS, time and attendance, and benefits systems; research and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee and perform off-cycle and manual check processing as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely remittance of payroll taxes, garnishments, benefit premiums, and other statutory or voluntary deductions, partnering with vendors where applicable.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex employee payroll inquiries and issues, delivering timely and accurate resolutions with a high level of customer service.
- Partner with HR, Finance, BT and Benefits teams as needed
Compliance & Controls:
- Monitor changes in federal, state, and local wage-and-hour laws and payroll tax regulations
- Maintain internal controls for payroll processes, including segregation of duties, approvals, documentation, and audit trails.
- Support internal and external audits (e.g., SOX, financial, payroll tax, workers' compensation), preparing schedules, reconciliations, and explanations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements related to overtime, minimum wage, final pay, leaves of absence, and other employment practices.
Analysis, Reporting & Reconciliation:
- Prepare and analyze regular payroll reports (e.g., payroll summaries, tax reports, overtime, headcount, labor cost) for Finance, HR, and business leaders.
- Investigate and resolve variances between payroll and GL
- Support year-end activities, including W-2/1099 review, validation, and issue resolution.
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including complex, multi-state . payrolls;
- Strong knowledge of . federal, state, and local wage-and-hour laws, payroll tax rules, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working with a major HRIS/payroll system (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP, UKG) and time & attendance tools.
- Experience with ADP is required
- Proficiency with Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, reconciliations) and comfort working with large data sets.
Preferred:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar credential.
- Experience in a high-growth, multi-entity or multi-country environment.
- Familiarity with SOX controls and working in a publicly traded or highly regulated environment.
- Experience with payroll processing through Workday is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, HR, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
