Position Summary:

Are you a payroll professional with experience building key relationships, fostering collaborations, and effecting change with payroll processes? We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Payroll Coordinator to join the Payroll Services team within the University of Dayton's Office of Human Resources. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll processing. The ideal candidate is a meticulous professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the University community through accurate and timely payroll processing and responsive customer service.

This position is responsible for timely and accurate processing of the University''s bi weekly and semi monthly payrolls. This position will perform all associated tasks such as entry verification, deduction setup, error correction and submission of all withholdings and related reporting. This position will also be responsible for processing the yearly W2s for all employees. This position will assist with any payroll related system implementations, business process enhancements and upgrade testing and serve as a back-up to the Manager of Payroll Services, as needed. This position will work collaboratively across departments to ensure data integrity and compliance with policies and procedures.

This position will also provide excellent customer service to our employees, their supervisors and external clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor''s degree in Business or Human Resources or related field. Education may be substituted with 4+ years of payroll generalist experience, which includes using software to compute paychecks, filing and remitting payroll taxes in-house, and issuing W-2s.

Competency in Microsoft Office product suite

Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to adhere to strict deadlines

Ability to work independently

Excellent written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

MBA or other advanced degree

3+ years payroll generalist experience

Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP

Experience with Cognos reporting tool

Experience with TimeClock Plus/Costpoint timekeeping software

Excellent verbal communication skills

Experience in Higher Education

Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local payroll regulations

Demonstrated ability to assess and optimize payroll business processes
