POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, compliance with regulations, and the overall efficiency of payroll functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of payroll systems and regulations.

This role is required to be in office 5 days a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data entry, payroll calculations, and payment processing;
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements;
  • Manage payroll system upgrades and changes, working closely with IT and software vendors;
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including labor costs, overtime, and deductions;
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy;
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee records and benefit deductions;
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and tax withholdings;
  • Conduct audits of payroll and related records to ensure compliance and accuracy;
  • Stay current with industry trends, legislation, and best practices related to payroll management;
  • Train and mentor payroll staff to enhance their skills and improve team performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field;
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a similar role (typically 5+ years);
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g.,Workday, ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Excel;
  • Familiarity with federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance;
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization;
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
