Senior Payroll Specialist - Pasadena, CA
Pay Range: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour
A well-established architecture and design firm in Pasadena is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join its growing team. This role will be responsible for managing the full-cycle payroll process for approximately 300 employees while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional internal customer service. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong experience with ADP Workforce Now. Experience processing union payroll is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Process full-cycle payroll for approximately 300 employees on a biweekly basis
Maintain and process payroll through ADP Workforce Now
Review and audit payroll data for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and timekeeping records
Process employee status changes, new hires, terminations, garnishments, and payroll adjustments
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end payroll activities
Partner with HR and Accounting to support payroll-related projects and reporting
Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information
Support payroll audits and documentation requests
Qualifications:
5+ years of payroll processing experience
Experience managing full-cycle payroll for 300+ employees
Strong proficiency with ADP Workforce Now
Knowledge of California payroll laws and wage-and-hour regulations
Experience with payroll audits, garnishments, deductions, and employee tax matters
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Union payroll experience is highly preferred
Pay Details: $42.00 to $48.00 per hour
