Job Description

As a Senior Payroll Systems Specialist, you will provide technical support for Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Scheduling systems, lead user training, troubleshoot system issues, and partner with departments to improve workflows, reporting, and system performance. This is a fully remote position that will support the East Hawaii Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Scheduling systems, ensuring payroll deadlines are met and system issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Maintain system configuration, user security, interfaces, and equipment while coordinating software updates, testing, and system enhancements.
  • Train managers, supervisors, timekeepers, and employees on Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Scheduling systems through onboarding, annual education, and ongoing support.
  • Perform system audits, analyze payroll and interface data, generate reports, and identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Payroll, Human Resources, Information Technology, and other departments to resolve system issues and ensure accurate data integration across systems.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation, standard operating procedures, backup plans, and communication regarding system updates, outages, and process improvements.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Relevant administrative, analytical, technical, or professional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Three and one-half (3½) years of progressively responsible information technology experience involving systems analysis, software applications, database management, security administration, troubleshooting, or systems support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information technology principles, computer hardware and software, operating systems, and business application support.
  • Supervisory aptitude or demonstrated leadership potential.
  • No certification or licensure required.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of professional experience in payroll processing, payroll systems administration, payroll analysis, or professional auditing.
  • Experience supporting Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Scheduling software in a healthcare or large organizational environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet payroll deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to develop user documentation, conduct system training, and collaborate effectively with staff at all organizational levels.

Pre-Employment Health Requirements

Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen.  The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
