Job Description:

NOTE: Fidelity will not provide immigration support for this position.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Performance and Attribution Consultant, who will support multiple types of investment performance reporting, attribution, and competitor analytics for a broad range of Fidelity portfolios. In this role, you will partner with investment professionals and senior leaders to address complex inquiries related to performance results, attribution drivers, and competitive positioning. You will collaborate closely with internal and external data teams to ensure performance and competitor insights are accurate, consistent, and relevant. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will support new product development efforts as new strategies are brought to market.

This role also focuses on driving continuous improvement within our performance business operations and close partnership with technology teams to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions, including expanded use of Snowflake and third-party tools.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Deliver and provide oversight to ensure accurate and timely performance and management reporting supporting Fidelity advisors, investment teams, and senior leaders
  • Apply deep expertise in performance, attribution, and competitor metrics to analyze portfolio and relative results, including allocation, selection, and market effects supporting traditional and non-traditional product structures
  • Provide insightful analysis and serve as a point of escalation for complex reporting questions of relative performance versus benchmarks and peers, leveraging strong data fluency to help business partners understand competitive positioning and emerging methodologies
  • Support product evolution by defining scalable reporting approaches for new and increasingly complex investment strategies, while maintaining strong data quality and governance standards
  • Partner with technology and data teams to improve reporting solutions and support enterprise initiatives by assessing impacts to reporting deliverables
  • Mentor and guide analysts by promoting efficient business operations processes and effective communication, encouraging continuous improvement, and emphasizing critical thinking and strong conceptual knowledge

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required
  • 7 years of proven experience, including strong background in fund accounting, performance reporting, or attribution
  • Deep knowledge of performance methodologies with experience supporting traditional and evolving product structures
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data and reporting issues, exercising good judgment around systemic risks and reporting cycles
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner across teams, lead discussions, manage business partners expectations, and contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Strong Microsoft office skills required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), familiarity with Snowflake (querying), PowerBI or modern data platforms preferred
  • Experience working with third‑party data and tools such as Morningstar Direct, Lipper, or similar platforms
  • CFA, CIPM, or CAIA preferred or willingness to pursue

The Team

The Performance, Attribution and Product Disclosure team supports all Fidelity advisors and investment staff by addressing reporting needs for performance, attribution, and competitor analytics. The team is responsible for monitoring portfolio, index, and third‑party data, as well as validating portfolio‑level performance, attribution results and competitor peers group rankings. Analysts review fund‑ and holdings‑level activity to compile, research, and validate performance and attribution outputs, ensuring accurate and high-quality reporting to support our business partners. The team produces daily, periodic (monthly, quarterly, and annual), and ad hoc performance and attribution reports that decompose portfolio returns on an absolute, relative, and peer basis. These insights support internal reporting, Board of Trustees materials, marketing deliverables, and portfolio management discussions.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model

Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
