Senior Piping Designer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer to join their growing team in a hybrid capacity. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex industrial and pharmaceutical facility projects that support some of the most advanced manufacturing and production environments in the country.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive piping design experience, strong technical expertise in 3D modeling platforms, and a collaborative approach to working within multi-disciplinary project teams. While preference is given to candidates local to the Cincinnati area, qualified candidates located anywhere within the United States will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute piping system designs for industrial and pharmaceutical facility projects.
• Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D piping models and construction documentation.
• Review and coordinate vendor drawings, equipment layouts, and piping packages.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and other disciplines to ensure project success.
• Support multi-office project execution while maintaining schedule and technical quality standards.
• Monitor project scope, budget, and progress, communicating design changes and potential impacts proactively.
• Develop piping design estimates and support project planning activities.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and quality assurance processes.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior designers and team members.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of piping design experience in industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similar environments.
• Advanced proficiency with piping design and modeling software, including:
  • Hexagon SmartPlant S3D
  • Autodesk Plant 3D
• Strong understanding of piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and plant design principles.
• Experience coordinating designs across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and project schedules.
