Senior Plastics Applications Engineer

OverviewAn employer is seeking a Sr. PET Applications Engineer in the Cincinnati, OH area. In this role, you will be responsible for sizing machines for new applications and collaborating with the sales teams and customers to ensure that the clients equipment complements and fits the customer's desired application, thereby ensuring optimum cycle time and reliability. You will also work closely with sales engineers, product managers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure success during customer mold trials, sales demo mold trials, and testing of injection molding machines.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise and support sales and customers in selecting the correct equipment for specific PET applicationsProvide technical support and direction for new and existing product linesTravel 20-30% of the time for customer training, presentations, machine/cycle optimization, field installations, and trade showsDirect the work of process engineers and service engineers to collect data for machine sizingAssist process engineers in installing customer molds for machine demonstrations and sales acceptanceBecome a subject matter expert on all control systemsDesign and perform testing for future sizing requirements and machine design criteriaComplete and document machine/processing testingProvide technical reports to customers, engineering, and suppliersCommunicate professionally with the sales and engineering teams, customers, and the organizationQualifications5+ years of application engineering experience within PET (PET manufacturing = injection molding that creates beverage bottles or containers)3D CAD Modeling and analysis softwareStrong mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and thermodynamic systemsBachelor\'s degree in Engineering fieldKnowledge of injection molding processes and tooling#J-18808-Ljbffr
