Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Atlanta, Georgia (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
The ideal candidate is a Senior Platform Engineer with strong experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise API platforms. The candidate should possess deep expertise in API Management, API Gateway technologies, cloud-native platforms, automation, DevOps, and containerized environments. This role requires the ability to work independently, mentor junior engineers, collaborate across global teams, and support complex enterprise API initiatives.
Must possess:

• 5+ years of Platform Engineering or API Platform experience
• Strong experience with API Management platforms such as Kong, Broadcom Layer7, Google Apigee, or similar
• Strong understanding of API Gateway architecture, traffic management, rate limiting, and API security
• Experience managing the full API lifecycle (design, publishing, versioning, retirement)
• Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect, and API authentication/authorization
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Shell, Ansible)
• Experience integrating API platforms with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

The Senior Platform Engineer – API will design, develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise API platforms supporting critical business applications and services. This role focuses on API gateway administration, platform automation, DevOps integration, monitoring, security, and cloud-native technologies while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
The successful candidate will lead API platform initiatives, improve deployment automation, ensure platform reliability, mentor engineers, and support enterprise-scale API infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise API platforms
• Administer API Management platforms (Kong, Layer7, Apigee, etc.)
• Configure API Gateway routing, traffic management, rate limiting, and security policies
• Manage the API lifecycle including publishing, versioning, and retirement
• Implement API authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and OpenID Connect
• Develop automation using Python, Shell, and Ansible
• Integrate API platforms into CI/CD pipelines
• Support Docker and Kubernetes deployments
• Monitor API performance using Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools
• Troubleshoot complex platform and API issues
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate with Product, Development, Infrastructure, and Operations teams
• Mentor junior engineers and support global engineering initiatives
