Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where data drives strategic decision-making? The Cloud Data Warehouse team is looking for an innovative, highly organized Sr Portfolio Manager (individual contributor) to lead and mature our portfolio management discipline. This role will oversee the intake, evaluation, prioritization, reporting, and communication of both new and existing data projects across the enterprise.

You will manage the portfolio of data assets and initiatives that support business-led projects across Schwab, ensuring transparency, alignment to strategy, and maximum value delivery. This is a senior leadership role suited for someone who excels at creating clarity, influencing across diverse stakeholder groups, and enabling teams to execute with purpose.

What You’ll Do

Portfolio Strategy & Value Articulation

• Articulate the value and impact of Cloud Data Warehouse analytical solutions to senior leadership and business partners

• Define and evolve portfolio management frameworks that align with Data Management and Schwab Data strategic objectives

• Establish portfolio performance measures, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to create transparency and identify opportunities for improvement

Portfolio Planning & Governance

• Collaborate on prioritization, and sequencing of new and existing project requests

• Maintain a comprehensive portfolio view including active projects, backlog, resource allocation, risks, and dependencies

• Partner with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, and business stakeholders to ensure portfolio alignment with capacity and enterprise priorities

• Lead portfolio review ceremonies and ensure decision-making transparency

Roadmap & Communication Leadership

• Consolidate and maintain all Cloud Data Warehouse roadmaps across domains, teams, and asset areas

• Develop executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and portfolio summaries for SDO Leadership

• Own and maintain team communication channels including SharePoint, Confluence, and other internal communication tools

Operational Excellence & Capacity Management

• Track and report on team capacity and forecast demand to inform staffing and prioritization

• Improve portfolio workflows, intake processes, and operational mechanisms for clarity and efficiency

• Drive consistency in reporting, documentation, and cross-team communication

What you have

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in technology portfolio management, program management, product management, or related discipline

• Experience managing complex, multi-team portfolios within data, analytics, cloud, or technology domains

• Experience supporting projects, programs, or ARTs in a standard senior level project, program, or RTE capacity

• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, data management lifecycle, and analytical solution development

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics in clear, concise, executive-friendly formats

• Proven experience building portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics

• Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries and build alignment without authority

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

• Critical-thinking and problem-solving mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Big Query

• Experience in financial services, brokerage, or banking industries

• PMP, PMI-ACP or SAFe certifications
