Role description Arcadis is currently seeking a highly motivated Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in USA Arcadis&39 Power Delivery group partners with clients to provide comprehensive plans that incorporate all aspects of their projects. This is a Technical position within the Power Delivery unit of Arcadis. The position consisting in the coordinationdevelopment of the Power System Planning & Study team and andor performing HVAC andor HVDC planningfeasibility studies interconnection studies transient studies and systems analysis investigations for clients in North America primarily but also globally. The incumbent will also work closely with other Power Delivery & Renewables department including the Substation Engineering Transmission Engineering Protection & Control Engineering and the Renewables teams as well as with other Arcadis divisions on related system studies and power sector master plans. As part of the Power Delivery team you will help improve quality of life. Role accountabilities Support develop and deliver various complex power system study & planning project within regulated non-regulated developer or other industrial clients Perform and review power systems analysis activities including load-flow short-circuit transient stability electromagnetic transient small-signal stability analysis system impact study reliability analysis etc. Perform planningsystem performance studies and transient studies for compliance with prevailing standards and criteria and good engineering practice. Delivery of accurate and thorough planning studies system design report summary and other client system study deliverables that will meet industry standards and specifications and meet good engineering practice with excellent constructability. Responsible for QA on client reports and deliverables Maintaining close coordination and help other relevant Arcadis Business Units and Practices for cross selling and cross staffing opportunities. As well as Develop project scopes budgets and proposals. We are seeking an individual with a strong team player mindset and excellent communication skills to join our team. In this role you will have the opportunity to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Additionally this position may involve travel of up to 25 to client sites and customer meetings both within North America and potentially internationally. Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications Bachelor&39s degree in Electrical Engineering Master&39s degree preferred Minimum 8 years of direct experience with experience in power system study analysis and planning Must be proficient with the PSS®E PSCAD and PSSE software package including load-flow short-circuit and transient stability analysis. Experience with alternative planning software applications including TARA PSLF DigSILENT or DSA Tools is highly desirable Must be familiar and experienced with key North American Market Operators i.e. MISO PJM NE-ISO NY-ISO CAISO ERCOT SSP AESO IESO policies guidelines regulations rules model analysis requirements and criteria as applicable to grid interconnection performance and planning especially related to bulk power systems.
