Senior Power Systems Architect - Level 3

The Senior Power Systems Architect is a customer-facing technical role at the intersection of system-level power architecture and connector/cable interconnect engineering. Working directly with hyperscalers, GPU/CPU partners, infrastructure partners, and Rack Power ODMs to understand current and future power delivery architectures and turn that insight into connector and cable power solutions. The role sits between the customer's engineering teams and internal product development engineering, R&D, and applications engineering, acting as the primary technical liaison who gathers technical requirements, aligns architecture with product capability, and presents solutions back to the customer.

Senior Power Systems Architect works under only general direction, independently determining their approach to customer support. Owning the technical relationship for one or more key customers and/or key programs to drive technical requirements through to documented interconnect specifications and design wins.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Requirements: Independently own the technical requirements-gathering relationship with customer engineering teams for power architecture requirements.
• Architecture translation: Translate system-level power architecture (e.g., 800V bus conversion, sidecar or vertical power delivery, busbar distribution) into connector and cable technology requirements to define product development.
• Customer-facing solutioning: Lead power architecture discussions with customer engineering teams, presenting connector/cable solution options, trade-offs, and roadmap alignment.
• Cross-functional alignment: Partner with product engineering, manufacturing, and R&D to shape roadmap decisions in response to customer power architecture requirements.
• Specification development: Develop and own technical requirement documents and specification inputs that drive new product development and design-in activities.
• Design-in support: Lead qualification, validation, and design-in activities for new power interconnect solutions at customer sites.
• Industry Standards: Track and begin contributing to relevant industry standards and consortia (e.g., OCP, hyperscaler-specific specifications) that shape power delivery and interconnect roadmaps.
• Voice of customer: Deliver customer and market insight back into internal roadmap and new product development.
• Mentor Associate (Junior) Engineers and review their technical outputs.
• Identify architecture shifts (e.g., new bus voltages, new form factors) early enough to influence internal roadmap planning.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related engineering technical field.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5–8 years of experience in power connector, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Master’s degree with 3–6 years of experience in power connector, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience translating system-level power architecture requirements into connector/cable specifications.
• Working knowledge of high-voltage/high-current interconnect design principles for data center or similar power infrastructure.
• Proven history of independently managing a customer technical relationship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for direct, unsupervised customer engagement.
• Willingness to travel to customer and manufacturing sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with data center or high-voltage (e.g., 800V) power architecture and strong critical thinking skills.
• Experience with the connector and cable industry landscape and competitive power interconnect product lines.
• Knowledge of various safety certification standards including UL and IEC
• Working knowledge of Open Compute Project (OCP) standards. (Active participation preferred)
• Experience with Creo 3D CAD software.
• Exposure to power integrity simulation or analysis tools.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
