Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is seeking a Senior Power Systems Controls Engineer - Commissioning. This is a hybrid role with approximately 50% travel. A company vehicle is provided! The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you'll do:** As a Senior Commissioning Engineer for Power Systems Controls, you will provide field service systems integration support and technical consultation for customers in the areas of system design, programming, installation, start up, maintenance, repair, training and modification of automated control systems and power management systems. Responsibilities will include: + Programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) & Human Machine Interfaces (HMI's) + Firmware and software updates to field installed components + Deploying automatic power transfer schemes (Main-Tie-Main, Main-Tie-Gen-Main, Main-Gen-Tie-Gen-Main etc.), and generator paralleling switchgear controls applications. **Qualifications:** Basic Qualifications: + High School Diploma/G.E.D. with at least 3 years of experience starting up PLC & Relays Based Automatic Transfer Schemes. + No relocation is being offered for this position. Candidates must reside within the states of California, Washington, Hawaii, Arizona, Colorado, or Utah. Active-duty military members exempt from this geographical limitation. + Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. + Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H1B, H1-B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Mechatronics from an accredited institution. + Certified Training in Generator Control: Emergency Standby Systems, Prime Power, Co-Gen, Microgrid etc. + Minimum 5 years working with customer on a technical basis and deployment of automatic power transfer or paralleling switchgear controls projects **Position Success Criteria:** + *Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings. + *Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company's safety program and policy; This includes role-applicable portions of the EESS Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) program and any required annual re-certifications thereafter. + *Knowledge and understanding of best engineering practices for design and operation of automation systems, power management systems, human-machine interface software, PLC programming, etc. + *Working knowledge of test equipment and diagnostic instruments for automation and power management systems. + *Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques to control circuits, logic controllers, and intelligent electronic + devices (IEDs).
