Are you the leader who can turn prints into flight-ready parts?

If you thrive on challenge, this role puts you at the center of our aerospace/aviation turning operations. You’ll lead a compact, capable team (1–3 employees) that spans two shifts, while personally executing set-ups and first runs on 2-axis and multi-axis CNC lathes with sub-spindles. You’ll balance speed with rigor—planning fixturing and tooling, programming basic lathe paths in MasterCAM, inspecting in-process parts with precision gauges, and ensuring every machine is producing parts that meet spec.

Your mission

  • Lead daily production and schedule adherence for the turning department
  • Set up, prove out, and run CNC lathe work (2-axis and multi-axis) to aerospace tolerances
  • Keep documentation tight: update set-up sheets; validate labor tickets, time cards, and work orders
  • Communicate cross-functionally with Programming, Tooling, the Production Scheduler, and the GM
  • Safeguard quality and compliance with disciplined PPE and safety practices
  • Coach operators, answer shop-floor questions, and propose process improvements

What it takes

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years as a machine shop lead; 5+ years CNC lathe machining
  • Meticulous, analytical, and clear communicator in English
  • Dependable teammate and example-setter with excellent attendance and time management
  • Ability to stand for long periods in a warehouse manufacturing environment

Technical toolkit

  • Hands-on troubleshooting
  • CNC programming skills with G-Code and M-Code
  • Set-up/changeover expertise for production runs
  • Precision measurement and hand metrology; advanced inspection and gauges
  • Blueprint literacy and prior manufacturing experience
