Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 12 months
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 $28.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM

Job Summary

This role requires expertise in a variety of work processes through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. The Senior Prerequisite Coordinator typically acts as a lead, coordinating the work of others, but is not a supervisor, and works autonomously within established procedures and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • May assign permitting tasks to other team members; analyzes permitting requirements for complex jobs; determines permitting required and coordinates the permitting process, ensuring timing meets business objectives; collaborates with others to schedule work to ensure permits are complete.
  • Monitors permitting process and troubleshoots and resolves issues.
  • Creates and sends notifications to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies impact of planned outages on customers; performs quality control on list of customers for outages and notifies other departments of potential risks.
  • Creates, updates, and monitors design work orders in accordance with established procedures; resolves or escalates potential issues.
  • Designs new processes; develops and maintains documented processes and implements process improvements.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to other employees; may provide training, coaching, and feedback.

Required Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of the electrical distribution system
  • Advanced knowledge of the systems used in the department
  • Intermediate knowledge of distribution construction processes and procedures
  • Working skills in interpreting design sketches
  • Advanced knowledge of permitting laws and regulations as they relate to utility operations
  • Basic knowledge of right of way
  • Working skills in process improvement
  • Intermediate skills in customer focus
  • Intermediate skills in prioritization and organization
  • Intermediate skills in communication
  • Consistent use of relevant principles to solve practical problems and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Extremely detail oriented, organized, and focused
  • Clear communicator with great grammar (email, phone calls, etc.)
  • Must be comfortable with technology this is fully a computer role, and on average will use between 10 15 different applications throughout the day to be successful in the work order creation task

Preferred Skills

  • Critical thinker able to present opportunities for process improvements
  • Fast learner and fast processor seeker of additional tasks and responsibilities
  • Dependable a lot of work to process; attendance is crucial to staying on top of workload
  • Previous utility experience preferred

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Required Experience

  • 3 5 or more years in a related field (preferred)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • 100% onsite role
  • Computer-intensive environment candidate will use between 10 15 different applications throughout the day
  • Primary systems utilized are Maximo and QuickBase, both used heavily for internal work order creation
  • Team processes approximately 15,000 work orders per year related to vegetation clearances, tree trimming, landscape clearance, and landscape restoration supporting construction projects
  • Accuracy and speed are key priorities each contractor is expected to create approximately 20 internal work orders per daily shift
