Senior / Principal Guidewire PolicyCenter Architect

Location: Worcester, MA 1 day onsite per week
Work Arrangement: Can start remote but must relocate to Worcester within 3 months
Visa: USC or Green Card only

Job Summary

Hanover Insurance is seeking a Senior/Principal Guidewire Architect to assess the current Guidewire PolicyCenter environment, support the ongoing cloud migration, and develop future-state architecture and technology roadmaps.

The consultant will work with Guidewire and internal teams and present architecture recommendations to the Architecture Review Board and executive stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in Solution or Enterprise Architecture.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter.

  • Guidewire Cloud migration and on-prem to cloud transformation experience.

  • Strong architecture, strategic planning, and technology road mapping experience.

  • Experience with PolicyCenter integrations, APIs, batch processing, database interactions, and performance tuning.

  • Knowledge of ISO Rating, Standard Base Template (SBT), data integration, REST APIs, MFA, and SSO.

  • Strong enterprise integration architecture and event-driven integration experience.

  • Ability to evaluate the current Guidewire implementation and recommend future-state solutions.

  • Experience preparing technical architecture and design documentation for Architecture Review Boards.

  • Strong stakeholder management and executive presentation skills.

  • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Guidewire PolicyCenter architecture and roadmap activities.

  • Assess the current implementation and identify technical risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.

  • Define future-state architecture for Guidewire cloud migration.

  • Develop technical approaches, architecture patterns, and solution options.

  • Lead architecture and vendor discussions.

  • Present technical designs and recommendations to leadership and Architecture Review Boards.

  • Identify and resolve PolicyCenter performance and integration bottlenecks.

  • Mentor Solution Architects and provide technical direction across Guidewire initiatives.
