Experience Design Team Lead: Colombia
Senior Principal Product Design, Client Delivery
Who You'll Work With
Are you a designer who leads? Do you have a passion for developing creative talent and evolving your teams' skills as well as your own? Can you guide a team through ambiguity, earn trust at the executive level, and still roll up your sleeves when the moment calls for it?
Our Customer Experience (CX) team is looking for a Senior Principal, Experience Design to lead our growing Colombia team. This is a senior delivery and leadership role where you will own design direction on complex engagements, grown, develop and mentor a high-performing team in Colombia, and serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders from discovery through delivery.
At Slalom, Experience Design is more than a service line, it is a leading discipline for delivering lasting, meaningful, and impactful work. We believe design is not something to hand off, but an integral part of product development from front to back. If you are energized by hard problems, motivated by the growth of others, and excited about where design is headed, we would love to hear your story.
We are looking for candidates who are open to working in a hybrid environment as we build and grow our team in Colombia. We offer a flexible working model that balances independent work with in-person collaboration at our local office.
Slalom's Customer Experience (CX) team is a group of diverse individuals who happen to be world-class multidisciplinary creatives, designers, researchers, and strategists. We're artists and technologists, sure. But we're also athletes and farmers, carpenters and musicians, educators and data nerds, and so much more. Together, we operate with a shared passion for building great products with great clients.
This role sits within the Experience Design capability of CX and reports to senior design leadership in Latin America. You will partner closely with technology practitioners across capabilities and collaborate across the full Slalom delivery ecosystem.
What You'll Do
Design & UX Leadership
- Own product design direction across complex, cross-functional engagements from research and requirements through interaction and visual design
- Lead discovery engagements: stakeholder alignment, research planning and execution, synthesis, and strategic framing
- Facilitate executive-level workshops and innovation sessions, guiding clients from ambiguous opportunity spaces to clearly scoped product direction
- Steward design system integrity across large, multi-team product builds, ensuring coherence at scale
- Drive iterative testing programs that evolve designs based on real user data, not assumptions
- Serve as a senior design voice in client relationships, VP-level conversations, and cross-functional planning
People Leadership & Practice Development
- Advocate for direct reports through project alignment, professional development, and career growth
- Mentor and elevate the design craft of product designers, design engineers, and junior team members
- Set the standard for requirements documentation and design handoff across programs, ensuring engineering teams have what they need to build with confidence
- Contribute to growing our Colombia practice by participating in new business development, building proposals, and shaping solutions
- Advance our craft by developing thought leadership, internal toolkits, and reusable frameworks that benefit the broader team
AI-Assisted Design & Build
- Leverage modern agentic design tools and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate delivery and demonstrate what's possible to clients
- Build production-quality interfaces using agentic coding assistants, bridging the gap between prototype and the foundational code engineering teams build from
- Identify and design agentic workflows that eliminate repetitive handoffs, evolving them into durable, scalable processes
What You'll Bring
Design & Product Leadership
- 7+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or experience design, with a track record of leading complex, enterprise-scale engagements
- 3+ years in a consulting or agency environment with direct client-facing responsibility
- A portfolio demonstrating systems-level thinking, design craft, and shipping velocity across multiple product types-including work that bridges design with measurable business outcomes
- Deep expertise in Figma and design systems at scale
- Expert facilitator who is equally effective in a requirements workshop, a design critique, or an executive alignment session
- Proven experience working in close partnership with product owners and engineering leads in Agile delivery environments
Strategic & Organizational
- Proven ability to translate complex client needs into design strategy and actionable product direction
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams and clients at VP level and above
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and driving toward clarity
- Strong communication skills in Spanish and English
Success in This Role Looks Like
- Delivering high-value client engagements that drive measurable business outcomes through strong design craft and strategic thinking
- Building and nurturing a high-performing team of designers through effective coaching, mentorship, and professional development
- Establishing trusted advisor relationships with client leaders by delivering strategic insights and navigating complex challenges
- Growing the Colombia practice by identifying new opportunities and contributing to successful new business pursuits
- Staying ahead of emerging tools and methodologies, and bringing what you learn back to the team
