Location & Eligibility Position: Principal Test Systems Engineer – Onsite, Tucson, Arizona, United States. U.S. citizenship required. Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret) is required prior to start. Equivalent Interim clearance may be obtained prior to start.Overview The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) organization is responsible for the systems design and test of all Raytheon products, covering test requirements, system design, advanced prototyping, flight operations, environmental testing, and characterization. As a Principal Test Systems Engineer, you will coordinate across engineering teams to define, design, and document Test Environment capabilities and requirements, driving the integration of prime hardware testing from component to All‑Up‑Round to ensure robustness and efficiency.What You Will Do Apply subsystem knowledge and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop subsystem models using Model‑Based System Engineering tools and methods.Detail capabilities, derive requirements, and manage traceability.Communicate test equipment needs to Test Equipment designers.Leverage and reuse Test Environment requirements and models to promote efficiency.Develop subsystem requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and architecture.Interact with Technical SMEs to fully understand the subsystem, resolve issues, and support related trades or analysis.Generate briefings, present material to team members, customers, and management, and work autonomously in a collaborative environment.Qualifications – Must Have University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.Experience in Systems Engineering or related disciplines including test requirements development, test methodologies, integration, verification, and validation throughout the product lifecycle.Experience managing system requirements across design, transition to production, and product lifecycle.Experience with test-related activities throughout the product lifecycle.Qualifications – Prefer Knowledge of embedded test techniques, design for test, margin analysis, and design for manufacturing.Experience with Agile processes and techniques.Experience with Dynamic Object‑Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).Problem‑solving and debugging skills.Capability to identify improvement opportunities or customer needs and communicate them to senior staff.Sense of urgency, prudent risk‑taking, and adaptive response to challenges.Mentoring and guidance experience for newer team members.Knowledge of Model‑Based Engineering processes and tools (Rhapsody, IBM Rational, Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud) and understanding of SysML and UML.What We Offer Competitive salary: $132,400 – $251,600 USD (good‑faith estimate).Benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.Eligibility for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive programs.Equal opportunity employment in accordance with federal and state law, including affirmative action for qualified individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.Equal Opportunity Statement RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
