Aurorium is committed to operating at the highest levels of manufacturing consistency, quality control, and safety.DescriptionAs a member of the global Aurorium Process Engineering Team, the Senior Process Engineer is responsible for executing business unit driven process development programs using practical application of fundamental engineering principles. This role offers a mindset for the development, design, and introduction of new chemical and pharmaceutical processes from lab through to full scale manufacture of new and existing products, and provides ongoing technical support for existing businesses including the improvement and optimization of chemical processes.Role Specific ResponsibilitiesDefines, leads, and manages process design projects to generate constructable design for new or expanded processesDevelops and, with support from multi-functional teams, leads execution of plant process improvement projects and new product introductionsIncorporates commercial and operational cost elements into design objectives to target both commercial and technical successDevelops appropriate engineering models to improve scale‑up and operation of Aurorium technologies, and secures and enhances Aurorium process knowledgeDelivers new chemical process design for the engineering team and collaborates with project and operation teams throughout the execution of a project from concept to commercial scale productionComplianceComplies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangementsReports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptlyActs in a safe and responsible manner at all timesProblem Solving and InnovationActive participation in continuous improvement activitiesParticipates in problem‑solvingTakes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the businessAssists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team membersExercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidanceEducation and QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering is requiredExperienceMinimum of 10 years' experience within engineering design and/or manufacturing of chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical productsSpecialized expertise in any of the following is preferred: organic chemistry, separations, kinetic measurements, formulation, solids handling and processing, catalysis, heat and mass transfer, mixing/blending, crystallization, batch and continuous processes, integrated reaction/separations.Experience with process design and development preferred, including developing process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagramsExperience with Aspen modeling, statistical software packages, and DCS infrastructure is preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrated experience with cross functional teams and engineering projectsAnalytical approach to defining unit operations and developing process equipment calculations and designsExperience working in PSM regulated environment and leading safety reviewsFundamental knowledge of continuous and batch chemical operations including reaction, distillation, heat exchange, solids handling, utilities, and process controlStrong organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and prioritiesSelf‑motivated and ability to work within a fast‑paced environmentCritical thinking skills and analytical abilities which allow assessments of situations and opportunities to drive decisionsExhibits a passion for continuous improvement and problem solvingProficient in Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.Embodies the core values of Aurorium: credible – keeps their word and honors their commitments, acts with integrity, and holds themselves accountable to their decisions and actions; outcome‑oriented – adheres to an unparalleled standard of excellence in everything they do to deliver results with real impact; driven – passionate about delivering authentic, world‑class experiences that engage customers and inspire greatness; empowered accountability – empowered to achieve common goals and accountable for delivering performances and results that exceed standard.Aurorium offers competitive total compensation packages, including benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, paid time off, and paid holidays.Aurorium is a global Equal Opportunity Employer.
